JOBS MUSIC DIRECTOR NURSERY ATTENDANTWEEKEND CUSTODIAN
Position Description
This is a part-time position (8 hours per week) in providing music for the Sunday worship services (blended traditional/contemporary style), occasional services (as agreed), and other church programs as appropriate, which involve the use of the church’s Robert Morton pipe organ and/or piano as needed.
Specific Duties
- Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Playing the organ and/or piano for worship services on Sundays
- Selecting, each week, appropriate music for the prelude, offertory and postlude and for other portions of the service as needed
- Accompanying the choir and/or soloists for rehearsals and performances
- Monitoring the condition of the organ and/or piano and reporting any needed maintenance or repairs to the office manager
- Arranging for a substitute organist when necessary. Attending periodic music staff meetings. Attendance at regular worship planning meetings is encouraged but not required.
Qualifications
- Local church experience in music leadership (pianist/organist/director) preferred.
- Ability to read music and accompany a group of singers/musicians for participation in worship services.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with the pastor, church staff, and other worship leadership.
Accountability & Evaluation
- The organist works under the supervision of the pastor.
- A performance review will be conducted after 90 days and annually thereafter by the pastor.
Compensation & Benefits
- Negotiable, base $5000 per year.
- Four paid Sundays off to be negotiated with Pastor. No additional benefits are offered.
