JOBS NURSERY ATTENDANT ORGANISTWEEKEND CUSTODIAN
Position Description
This is a part-time position (10 hours per week) in planning for and providing music leadership for the Sunday worship services (blended traditional/contemporary style), occasional services (as needed), and other church programs as appropriate.
Specific Duties
- Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Providing musical leadership for worship services
- Directing rehearsals and performances of choir/ensemble
- Planning worship services, previewing and selecting appropriate music for worship services, including congregational singing, special music and other special aspects of worship, in collaboration with the pastor and other worship leadership
- Recruiting and developing volunteers to participate in various musical groups
- Engaging soloists and instrumentalists as needed
- Arranging for a substitute director when necessary
Qualifications
- Local church experience in music leadership (pianist/organist/director).
- Ability to read music and direct a group of singers/musicians for participation in worship services.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with the pastor, church staff, and other worship leadership.
Accountability & Evaluation
- The music director works under the supervision of the pastor.
- A performance review will be conducted after 90 days and annually thereafter by the pastor.
Compensation & Benefits
- Negotiable, base of $10,000 per year.
- No additional benefits are offered.
